What are the hardware and software requirements for taking courses on the PrimeLearning.com® eLearning system?

Hardware: Intel Pentium 200MHz processor or equivalent. 32MB RAM (memory) To hear audio clips, voice-overs and live instructors, a 16 bit sound card at minimum is required To speak to the instructor and other learners during a collaborative session, you will need a microphone

Software: Fourth generation browser with DHTML support, i.e. Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher, or Netscape 4.5 or higher Flash Player 6 or higher

Connectivity: 56KB dial-up or better

How do I determine which browser version I have?

For Netscape, click Help - About Communicator. For Internet Explorer, click Help - About Internet Explorer.

How do I determine how much memory my machine has?

During the boot process, your computer will briefly display how much memory it has.

Getting Online

Can I access the courses from a computer other than my own?

Yes, you can access your courseware from any Internet-connected computer (as long as that computer meets the eLearning system requirements). Simply go to www.PrimeLearning.com® and click on Client Login.

When I log in I get the error message "We are sorry. You are not currently an authorized PrimeLearning.com® user”. What should I do?

It is more than likely that you have entered the wrong ID or password. Check to make sure that your caps lock key is not on. If there is a number in your password try using the numbers above the letter keys to ensure you are typing in the numbers or check the num-lock key on your number keypad.

Do I have to be connected to the Internet the entire time I am taking a course?

Yes, each course is completely Internet-driven, nothing is downloaded to your computer.

Do your learning programs include audio?

Yes. Sound is included in both self-paced courses and virtual classes. In self-paced courses, sound is used to complement the learning. If you do not have a headset or speakers when you are taking a self-paced course, this will not impede your learning. However, you will need a headset or speakers to get the maximum benefit from a virtual class.
