PrimeLearning.com® is a leading global provider of corporate business skills eLearning solutions. Although a relatively young company, PrimeLearning.com is built on a long history of success. Its founders, Terry and Mary O'Brien, founded Mindware Ltd in 1986 and sold that company ten years later to Gartner Group, the world's leading IT consultancy firm. They teamed up once again to form PrimeLearning.com in January 1999. The company was started in Limerick, Ireland, and has a strong and steadily growing network of partners, clients and resellers throughout the world.

Management Team

Terry O'Brien, Chief Executive Officer

Since he founded the company in 1999, Terry sets the overall strategic direction and vision for PrimeLearning. He also manages relations with the company's investors and strategic partners. He began his career as an instructional designer with Ericsson in 1985 and later with CBT Systems. In 1988, he established Mindware Training Technologies, a pioneering training company focused on developing learning products for the telecommunications industry. Mindware served many notable clients including Deutsche Telekom, SwissCom, Xerox, HP, Bull and Unisys. Mindware was acquired in 1996 by Gartner Group,and Terry was appointed Managing Director, Europe. Terry holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the National University of Ireland Maynooth and a post-graduate Certificate in Media-based Education.

Mary O'Brien, Chief Operations Officer

As COO, Mary manages all operational aspects of the Company. She cut her teeth in the training industry as an instructional designer before co-founding Mindware Training Technologies. At Mindware, she led all product development and operations, creating many hundreds of hours of content. She is recognized throughout the training industry for her ability to assemble top-notch development teams. Mary holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Higher Diploma in Education, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a first class Honours MSc in CyberPsychology. Mary also leads PrimeLearning's Educational Research efforts.

Derek Humphreys, Chief Technology Officer

One of the most experienced CTOs in the eLearning industry, Derek sets the Company's overall technology vision and oversees all technology development and operations. He has an extensive background in strategy formulation and development of both Internet and traditional enterprise technologies. He also has fifteen years of experience in the training industry. Among his many accomplishments during his career as both an independent consultant and line manager, he built an Internet and Intranet training delivery system, developed content creation tools, led an ERP integration effort, designed Web- and CDROM-based training products, and implemented a pension administration system. He has also acted as a consultant to investment firms evaluating new technology start-ups. Humphreys holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Staffordshire University.

Fiona Howard, Director

Fiona has over 20 years experience in eLearning, Operations Management and Localisation. She held the position of Production Manager with Mindware, and subsequently Gartner Group Learning (Ireland). Fiona has in depth experience of all aspects of the process of educational product development. This insight has resulted in a highly effective manager who has the ability to manage and direct large numbers of staff, and to personally oversee various strands of the process. Since 2003 Fiona has worked as Director, Client and Linguist Care (Operations Manager) with eTeams International Ltd, one of Irelands leading Translation companies. Fiona and her team are responsible for ensuring client and linguist satisfaction. She holds a BA in History and Economics, a Post-graduate Higher Diploma in Education, a Post-graduate Certificate in e-Learning and a Post-graduate Certificate in Project Management.
